 Carolinas Medical Center-University and the YMCA of greater Charlotte are building a healthy community through CMC Health Centers inside Charlotte area YMCAs. This collaborative effort provides preventive health education and wellness programs to the community.
Services
Registered nurses, available at the health centers to all members of the community, help enhance spirit, mind and body through disease prevention, health education, early detection of illness or injury, and appropriate medical referral. Services include:
- Body assessments
- Education seminars
- Blood pressure checks
- Nutritional counseling
- Community outreach programs
- Select vaccinations (based on availability)
- Lab work focusing on cholesterol and glucose testing
- Individual consultations with the registered nurse
- Health evaluations and fitness prescriptions upon referral from a healthcare practitioner
